Hours in meetings: 10 hours
A light reading load this week and only the one formal meeting which discussed just a couple of items before going into ”closed” sessions. I suspect the public probably isn’t excited about the procurement panel policy. We did progress support for the Rotorua Museum which is not only regionally significant but also a national treasure.
Later that day we were briefed about the latest situation regarding water regulations. The Regional Council doesn’t have much in the way of water assets in the way that the City Council does, so we are more interested as a regulator and consenting authority.
The closed subject matter is commercially sensitive and not huge in the scheme of things although I was not impressed with the business case for one of them which I think is an example of people having wish lists.
